97 Baja Hammer 454 or 454 Mag?

Just bought the boat and he told me it had the mag in it but I have my doubts. The top cowl is gone on the carb and replaced. The vin on the block is 10237797. Anyone know what this is? Also what rpm does the 454 run and the mag run?

454, 330 hp at 4600rpm. 454 mag, 365hp at 4800 to 5000 rpm.

Does the motor have a GM Quadra jet carb or a Carter carb on it?

The 7.4's have a cast iron low rise intake manifold

The mags have a high rise aluminum intake manifold

shure looks like a 7.4 to me.

Looks like a weber. The idle mix screws shining in the pic. Looks like a magnum. Test the intake with a magnet.

they are the shiny screws in the front. Will slap a magnet on the intake tonight.
So with the 23 mirage plus it turns 4600 rpm. If in fact it is the magnum it should run 4800 rpm I believe. I have a 21 mirage, 24 4 blade which I can try. I think the 21 may be too small and unsure how going from a 3 blade to 4 blade affects rpm.
