500 efi alternator?

My alt is not charging on one engine. I'm looking into rebuilding it but I'm confused on the part #. its a delco 12 volt 50 amp # 19020703 875285.
the first # comes up as a 2.5 merc outboard alt:ack2: and the second # comes up as a 575 sci merc????I am going to check the other engine tomorrow for the alt #. Is it poss that merc used the same alts in different engines,I/O's and O/B's?????

Yes it is possible it will show up on more than one engine.. Look it up by the engine serial number or match it up at a good alternator shop. My local shop offers Delco replacements and the budget pieces.
