They are trying to work around the conflict with New Orleans and the Lake Race. There is some talk of moving the Lake Race to the weekend before the Shootout so boats can travel there once and do both events. But that's the same weekend as Sheboygan.......

Still no complete schedule. But, they are adding a Chicago race on Labor day it appears.

So far they have been unable to get the two dates to not overlap, and OPA has also put their race in Atlantic City on the same weekend.

New Orleans, as part of the P1 Triple Crown, is offering a pretty decent purse.

Prize Money
A minimum of $10,000 per event, (event meaning two days of racing), per class for Class 1, Supercat, Superstock, Factory Stock, and Mod V (contingent on a minimum of 5 boats per class).
Bracket Classes and Super V will have prize money determined based on entries.
Any team that wins all 6 triple crown races will get a bonus payout. Payout amount to be determined.

The latest info after this evening's meeting:

8 National Championship Races, all teams can drop 2, so the best 6 would be your total points

Cocoa Beach
LOTO
Toronto
MI City
Sheboygan
Chicago
St Petersburg
Clearwater

Possibly 6 Regional Events
New Orleans
Fort Myers
Englewood Beach
Miami
Havasu
St Clair

We shall see......

New Orleans is down to 450 Class and Mod V? Who haven't released a Sked yet?

Guntersville looks like a neat Place.....

So We got half of Mod Vee....Waiting on 450/500 Class Sked. ( I really want an excuse to go to NOLA:reddevil:)

Haven't heard from any Bracket Classes...

No, it will be an APBA regional event.

Ralph and Ray will figure out what classes pursue.

Under our agreed upon rules, to be a full blown National event you have to have two cranes and a launch. Englewood cannot have two cranes, not enough room.

The word regional only means it is not a National event. We wil be working on regional series events for future regions. Hopefully, we are just getting started.

We are also going to have two Championships for the season.

One will be the National Championship, which will be the best 6 finishes out of the 8 National events.

The other will be the High Points Championship, which will be the total of the best 10 finishes out of all APBA events participated in. So, if somebody did all 13, the best 10.

So there might be two Races at Englewood? I haven't seen OPA's Sked yet....(Or I was drunk and glazed right over it)
