F4 Powerboat Series
April 18 at 6:58 AM ·The cancellation of the 2025 UIM F4 season opener in Augustów, Poland, has cast a shadow over the powerboat racing community.
Scheduled for May 1st-4th, the event was called off due to financial difficulties, as confirmed by the organizing body, SPARTA Sports Club.
UIM F4 Race Director Jeni Jelf expressed deep disappointment, acknowledging the significant logistical and financial preparations made by the 25 participating teams.
The cancellation highlights ongoing challenges within the sport, despite a remarkable increase in participation from just eight teams a few years ago to a promising lineup for the current season.
Jelf emphasised the need for collaboration among the UIM, Organisers, and drivers to
ensure the sustainability and future success of the sport.
The setback is a stark reminder of the fragile nature of event planning in competitive racing, underlining the importance of financial viability to maintain momentum and growth in the sport.
The F4 Powerboat Series now turns its attention to gearing up for two thrilling events on the horizon.
The upcoming races in Mons, Belgium, scheduled for August 23-24, promise to deliver high-octane action as teams and drivers compete for supremacy on the water.
Following this, the series will head to Viverone, Italy, from September 12-14, where the competition is expected to reach new heights.
Participants and fans alike can look forward to enhanced experiences, with organizers promising that this year's events will be bigger and better than ever.
