2003 496Ho Exhaust Heat Sensor

I'm getting ready to start up boat after winter storage and found a broken heat sensor on an exhaust manifold. Ordered the part, however, I want to start up the boat prior to its arrival. Will the engine start up with the plug-in connection disconnected from this sensor. Thanks..

It should still start and run..It may reduce power and/or set the alarm off though. I wouldn't go for I ride.
