Hey Tank,
Do you know the boat? What kinds of speeds will she run? Great looking older Scarab... exactly what I'm looking for if I could just sell mine.

Boat runs great and is in pretty good shape. I've been on it many times. The owner is an older gentlemen who (I don't think) has ever opened it up. so top end is unknown.

Yes, the boxes are custom. They're made out of billet alluminum by Chet Huffmans (owns the 43 Nor-Tech "Way-Nutz") company Dukes Inc (http://www.dukesaerospace.com/). They did it this way so the motors didn't have to be pushed forward for the trannies. This also lowered the X so this thing sticks to the water no mater what!:sifone:

Nice boat....but what happened to the skegs??? Is there a purpose for that or did they trailer it with the drives down for a few thousand miles?:D:D

No, actually Bob Teague owned those drives at one time and cut them down like that for some reason. I believe they were on the old V8 yellow Fountain he still sometimes races (see picture).

The drives were also just re-built by Merc last year.

Is that you in those ebay pics? What will the owner take for it? Do you know about how fast it is?

Cat, yea, that's me in the brown shirt. Actually I don't know how fast the boat is. The owner said 90...But I don't know.

Hey Tank - how'd this shake out?

Didn't sell on Ebay....But there's two guys that say they're very interested so we'll see what happens.

So it was a Bravo boat and they did the boxes to convert it to 3A's I take it? Interesting...

Yes, the motors sit in the original place (with out moving them forward) because the trannies sit into the custom boxes. The transom's still cut out for the bravos.

Good for your buddy... glad to see boats are still moving out there. Somebody's gotta jumpstart the economy! Looked like a helluva boat for someone.
