Nope, they couldn't get Coast Guard permits to set up the course on Saturday. As of now, Saturday will only be open water testing, no course.

There were 54 boats registered today when I last checked, 4 scratches.

54 is a good turnout in my mind. There are some good races to watch on Sunday. One of the tightest races for the National Championship, Mod Vee.

Lilly Sport Boats and Sunprint are neck and neck for first place, only 8 points apart. Fast Boys and Boat Floater are only two points apart for third place.

Super Stock is between Allied and Jackhammer. They are currently 11 points apart.

Bracket 500 is another interesting contest. The difference between second, third, and fourth total is 9 points.

Then in Bracket 700, only three points seperates second from third.

In 450, second and third are tied, and fourth is only trailing them by 5 points.

Could be some really competitive racing this Sunday!

Saturday, Sept. 23
See boats on the water testing and all the action!

From talking with the teams yesterday that went out testing, it seemed that the announcement on line above was taken to heart by a lot of boaters. They all said it was nuts out there with no closed course for testing and so dangerous with traffic that they either went way out where there was no support boats, or were constantly in fear of hitting somebody on a jet ski or in a small boat.

Organizers said that it will be a closed course testing event next year on Saturday.

The races today had an update yesterday that the Stock Outboards, Superstock, will go last, Super Cat will be next to last.
