Anybody know how fast the ships can go up there? That one pic seems to have a faily big wake.

Max for a lake freighter is going to be around 15 knots. We have a lot of them and have shared the channel many times. The bow wave is usually more impressive than the stern wake. Displacement matters more than speed here, I think.
