Government Shut Down...the KW Worlds....and Offshore Politics Happening Now

Peter and Michael from Skater made it there today. That's a good thing since I'm staying with them.....
 
That is a big issue. They come in for one year by themselves, sponsor every race for the new group, then the newer group tosses them out? I wonder what will happen to all of the boats he sponsors? Is X done with Offshore completely? Should be an interesting conversation topic in Key West.

It's also too bad that Key West is not a World Championship this year. Sad.......:(
 
Travel so far, for my friends anyway, has been pretty normal. No one seems to have any idea of how the airport reductions will affect travel starting today. Hopefully not too bad.
 
Peter and Michael's flight got cancelled out of Key West Monday after I dropped them off at the airport. Then the flight they moved them to got cancelled. Then the flight they moved them to today got cancelled. Now they are saying they will not get out of Key West until Thursday. :oops:

Tony, Dale, and Lisa took a van or Uber to Miami and did get out of there today.
 
Chamber of Commerce reports that the Races brought in $33 Million to the Keys....Some Bars reported $80K a Night...:cool:
