I replaced the bellows, water hose, gimble bearings on 2 Alpha transom assemblies this spring w/o removing the bell housing before I installed the TA's on my boat. Wasn't real hard, but obviously not as easy if the bell housing is removed. These were on 2 new, never installed transom...

If you are trying to put new ones in the direction they spin, don't worry about that. Just get the impellors in, even if the vanes are pointing both directions. They will flip to the correct orientation as soon as the pulley is turned.

Those aren't bypass balls. They are check valves. Test them just to see how restrictive they are for passing water. You'd be surprised there is almost no restriction. The springs just keep the balls in location. They do bypass water past them when running at speed, but their main purpose is to...

So your motor ran with a reverse cam in it, yet the motor still spun the normal direction? Interesting

The Alphas can't be reversed like a Bravo can. They'll be junk before your day on the lake is over. Gotta go to CR lower unit. Standard rotations use RH props. CR use LH props

US1Bayliner just doesn't sound right. Thank god :D

I ordered the white Gel from Spectrum for my Baja as it was supposed to be the original mix. I had it sprayed just this week and it was whiter than the boat do to the gel fading and UV . I'd think any gel would still need to be tinted if you want a good match.

That was SlickNick, or NickSlick. I think it was an older Scarab though. Shorgasm had a Bayliner. I'll take the Fountain for $1 Alex. :)

I really don't see any difference than what my boat has as far as vent design. I don't think Fountain would have used them if it scrubbed any speed off. Gotta click the pics a couple times to blow it up.

I don't know true or not. Just go with what I read or am told. I do appreciate all opinions to help. Alot of replies bring up some info that I wouldn't have known to even consider and then I'll do some more info seeking. Thanks
