It could be the floats. Only confusing part is in my experience in flooding issues once it floods and you go to restart it will usually blow a little black smoke or it is hard to start. I can pull it right back up the ramp and it will fire in half a revolution. The only thing that keeps going...

Well we have decided to part with our 1979 ss7m. Many of you know this boat as Gib's old boat. Its is in running condition just needs some TLC. PM or email for pics and more info tpaston@cinci.rr.com

Yep. It is Gib's old boat. Still looks like that. Most likely going to keep the paint scheme. It needs a new interior which I am in the process of doing. Gib had the engine swapped to the MPI 502. I believe wew are going to go back to a carb setup just to keep with the correctness of the period.

I guess I am just looking for input more or less. Pics of other Carrera's. Pro's and Con's of setups, what guys would or wouldnt do with this boat.

Ok more ignorance coming on, So I decide to buy the one from Eddie Marine and get it installed how do I really know what the numbers mean? What I guess I am saying is do I start at parallel to the ground?

Well here I go showing my ignorance again. Our boat 1979 Carrera SS7M doesnt have a drive trim indicator installed. I really would like one but have know idea where to start. The drive is TRS. I dont want anything fancy just would like to have an idea for baseline setups. Any ideas are appreciated.

Man this thing looks good so far. Makes me want to tear my 24-7 apart and start over.

The engine being pushed back would be nice as we would have more room in the cockpit. Sounds like a lot of work for a few inches and a few miles per hour. The parts availabilty would be nice. Not to many parts guys left who know anything about TRS

I am thinking of switching to a bravo from a TRS in our 1979 Carrera SS7M with 502 MAG MPI. 1. How difficult? 2.How much? 3. what parts do i need? I like the TRS it is just heavy and takes up a lot of space. Any advice as to do it or not is greatly appreciated
