will a shorty be better on a 24baja

Raising your x will give you more speed and better handling with less trim. The boat will run flatter and faster.

Amsoil SVG Severe Lube Water Tolerance?

I agree, we have posted before about the same topics. I and others have contacted Amsoil and requested a Severe Gear Marine formula but it seems to fall on deaf ears. I have been using the Amsoil marine lube for about 6 seasons. If the reservoir starts to get a little dark I change it mid...

    Gen V dipstick

Thanks Jim, I did look there and it does not look like what I have. This thing has been leaking for years. I have tried to fix the leak several times. This winter I pulled the engine just to fix a few of the leaks. As you know I rebuilt the entire transom last year and now the shinny new white...

    509 Rebuild Tips

Stroke it to a 540+ CI, call RMbuilder and get a custom roller. You will need to have long risers or dry pipes for your Imco's. You will have to really spin it up to do NA, maybe shoot for 580 HP @ 5400.

    24baja with 700hp

I think there is a formula to figure it that way. I will see if I can find a picture of how to measure it. I bet you are 7.5 to 8" deep.

    24baja with 700hp

To get a close measurement, take your outdrive and get it as level to the bottom as possible. Extend a strait edge from the bottom of the boat to the outdrive, then measure down to the propshaft centerline. Mine is now 5", it used to be 8". Depending on the year of you boat yours used to be 6.5...

    24baja with 700hp

With Imco you get a standard box or 3" raised. The Stellings box is adjustable up to 2". The Imco shorties however come in standard, -1, -2 or with the imco upper -3.

    454 Magnum, Cam, Intake, Carb.

You can easily get 460HP, call Bob with Marine Kinetics "RMbuilder". He will point you in the right direction. Many of us have used him for out custom roller cams.

    What is

Try this site. http://www.rbbi.com/folders/prop/propcalc.htm I have 9.8% slip at 74mph. Maybe you need a nose cone at speeds over 80? Maybe some prop work? What is your drive depth?
