MIke,
I think I have an extra shift bracket-I'll check when I get home from work. I also have one 22" pitch Bravo prop (it's dinged a bit, but usable).

H20, The son of Bill Talbott was on OSO a few years ago looking for info/photos of his dad's boat. I informed him I had a few pics (of the Barnegat race were the fatality occured). I knew I had pics-but they were buried among thousands of pics that I had. One rainy Saturday, I found three pics...
Thanks for responding T2x. By the way, is there any significance to the name "Jesse James"?
Ryan, thanks for sharing your pics. I took the pic of the 28 Cigarette in post 1, B-91, on Barnegat Bay-late 1970's?? maybe early 1980's??
In all fairness, years ago (1970's) the drivers "voted" on wheather to race. In one instance Bob Magoon voted to race, but the majority voted not to race. Magoon understood their predicament stating that the owners have a small fortune tied up in their boats-and agreed not to race.
I personally...
Great article! I like how it mentions that race courses have been brought closer to shore for the benefit of the spectators-this was 24 years ago. Some old timers act as if racing close to shore is something new.
I know OPA's classes 5 and 6 are growing. There are a couple of older "A" boats and some F-1 boats coming out next year. Although not perfect, the brackett racing does allow older boats to come out, race, and be competative. It's going to be a long off season!
Question: There have been many 27 Magnums that have been successfully converted to single engine. Has anyone done this with a 28SS? There was an old 28SS race boat "Super Toad" that was built as a single-haven't seen any others?? Any out there?
