    Chris Sunkin thread on OSO

You know Tim, I agree with what you're saying. At first, everyone loved the idea of a place by us, for us, run by us. But we should have known that with ordinary humans involved, some human nature was bound to rear its ugly head. My mom used to tell me, "Don't you worry about other people...

    Chris Sunkin thread on OSO

What it ended up being was an amazing social experiment. Had I not been in the center of it, I think it would have been fascinating to watch. We had one person so jealous and so full of avarice that he made it his life's mission to destroy the site. We had one person completely unable to let...

    Chris Sunkin thread on OSO

I would have a less-diminished faith in humanity if that were even close to being accurate. The amazing thing to me was the snowball effect. The whole thing started with two people, so that part is spot on. But what astonished me was the sheer number of people who wanted to taste blood that...

    Chris Sunkin thread on OSO

A guy doing some due diligence on me found OSO via Google. Thought he'd ask some questions. A bunch of people that don't know me or even know someone that knows me told him all about all of my shortcomings as a human. I just found it today. I have reams of material and lots of good, grungy...

    Which Heads Are Better?

That combo is about 8.6. Still too low. I would use the right piston and not compromise on the head.

    Engine room transom paint

DO NOT just connect a 175 PSI air line to your header to test it. If it is cracked, that much pressure can cause a rupture that can injure you. I know the suggestion was to connect to water, but I've seen the other done- it's scary. I'm not sure why the concern about the header being cracked...

    Which Heads Are Better?

P.S. In a 454 with 30 over, zero deck and .030 head gaskets, using -3cc flat tops, you're right around 8.25:1. Good for a blower motor.

    Which Heads Are Better?

If you've got a high-quality die grinder it goes quick. Using one of those $69 Sears pieces can be misery. The worst part is the millions of razor-sharp needle-like shavings that fly everywhere :) But you're right. It does pay off. I neglected to mention port-matching the manifold.

    $45K - 2 years

I tried to do this privately with you Steve- to extend you some respect. Apparently that didn't work. This is Yankey's issue. It's his private business and is absolutely no business of yours in any fashion. If he has an unresolved issue and wants to bring it here, that's up to him. Clearly...

    Which Heads Are Better?

The 188's are the way to go. You can get some nice gains with a die grinder opening up the bowls under the valves and by unshrouding the exhaust valve a bit. The most important thing to do is get your quench set correctly. That's the gap between the piston and the head at TDC. You don't...

    what's the fix for this?

There are lots of franchise wheel repair guys that visit the dealer's lots. I googled one a couple weeks ago- my daughter bent a rim on her little BMW. A hundred bucks and it was straight. We met at a dealer's lot he was working at that day. They should be able to fix you up. Just search...
