    HURRICANE ADVICE

Pantera guys are smart. I have my 24' on a lift on Biscayne Bay. For every hurricane season for over ten years now I have lifted the boat to the max and secured the boat to the lift with giant straps and the cockpit cover with nylon rope. I have always left the plug in because I thought that...

Looking for Carrera owners past or present

Unfortunately Carrera are all center console boats now. The 36' is a nice hull and I heard that they are making a 39' closed deck outboard. Captain55

    Boat id

I saw a boat in an issue of Poker Runs America in an article about a poker run in Gaudeloupe. It is a deep vee, closed deck, twin merc outboards, blue & white, about 32 feet, named Will-B, with Speed Marine on the side and what looks like C4 on the back. Who made this boat? I am interested in...

    External Battery Terminals

The battery on/off switch is also under the hatch but the power to the Lenco jack is always on. I always turn the battery switch to off. I guess wiring the Dana part is easy positive to positive & negative to negative. True or false?

    External Battery Terminals

I have a 24' Pantera with the battery and the Lenco electric hatch opener under the sunpad. I am still worried that the battery will drain and I will not be able to easily open the hatch to get to the battery. I have seen external battery terminals that can be mounted with cabin access under...

    Bilge pump hose

I really dig this great advice. I have been boating since I was 8 and still learn from you guys. The original bilge pump works great but there is a leak (drip) where the black ribbed bilge outlet hose is clamped to the white above water through hull fitting. Is the through hull fitting...

    Battery back up

I will post a few pics later. I was out yesterday in 2' chop on Florida bay and saw 58 mph on GPS with a Bimini top up. I usually see 62 with the top down. A boat like this with the new lightweight 4.2 liter Yamaha 300 hp would surely run 66 mph. Captaimn55

    Battery back up

Jo, you are always welcome at my house not just to jump a switch. I replaced the battery twice already just to be safe. It never died. The Lenco is the original, 7 years old. I worry about electric motors in the salt air. So far all is perfect but I am a cautious man. Never towed in in...

    Battery back up

Sorry to be so slow but I am cautious with electrical and fuses. OK red to red. Black to any ground or on other side of switch? I do carry extra fuses. You guys are great. Captain55

    Battery back up

Thanx for the advice. Does the rocker switch have just two wires? What are the colors and which gets the positive (red) wire of the charger? I have a 2 amp charger, a 10 amp charger and a portable jump starter that must have majors amps. Which one is best and safest? Captain55

    Battery back up

I have a 24' Sport with one battery under the hatch which is controlled by a Lenco electric jack. If the battery dies or the Lenco dies, I am in trouble. The hinges would be hard to remove and the lenco is still connected. How long will a Lenco last? Should I replace it? Pepe told me that I...

Active Thunder OB Sydwayz, how much do the 28' and 33' weigh? Will either one run 60 mph with twin OBs? Captain55

    24 - 7 year report

rchevelle71, I have the same issue with a full tank (70 gallons). I always wondered if Pepe adjusts the location of the tank for 500 pounds in the transom vs. 1100 pounds of big block low and near the center of gravity. I moved most of the weight into the back of my boat. I would not spend a...
