    "Boatally Insane" 24 excalibur project.

I got it flipped back over and put on my "new" trailer (I LOVE having a service truck with a crane at the house) Tonight we worked some on the interior...... It's a rear seat / engine hatch from a Superboat and Bolsters from a Carrera..... Pretty happy with it so far.. Obviously some...

I picked it up after some of the paint removal had been done and hauled it to Texas... I flipped it upside down in my yard and proceeded to fill the thru-hull pickup and fix any of the defects I found... I then painted it with Nason Full-thane single stage polyurethane... I...

Thought I'd start a new thread on her in the proper place..... A little background... I'm a Diesel mechanic by trade currently employed by Holt Cat.... I've had a few fast cars, truck, and motorcycles but was really bitten by the performance boating bug...... My last "decent" ride was a '93...

Well, let's see.. So far.. I have a windshield from a Checkmate. Bolsters from a Carrera. Rear seat, sun pad, engine hatch and cabin cushions from a Superboat. A complete Bravo drive. and a 454 mag that dropped a valve seat.... I'm thinking of naming this one "white trash" since it's gonna...

It just seems nobody in the lower end of the market has that kind of cash (not that I do either..lol.) I'll probably just end up putting the drive train in my Excalibur hull for now and sell what's left.. .....Be an easy way to pick up 20mph and 3mpg :driving: .........And I don't think I even...

I've had it priced at $6500 for several weeks with no serious inquiries... .. Now I lowered it to $6000. Had one call today asking if I'd take $4000 without seeing it...Yeah right.... I've added it up several times...... Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong $$ wise on anything... $1500...

    Labor Day on Travis

Kind of an eerie feeling... The fires were all around us.. My car was covered in ashes this morning and our whole neighborhood was filled with smoke.. Frank went up towards the Pedernales fire and got some pictures but his computer is down at the moment... Doug

That Carrera hull truly amazes me... The engine in it right now came out of my 22' Celebrity that ran a best ever of 59 mph.. Now it's in a hull that is 5 feet longer and about 2000 lbs heavier and it picks up speed!!! My Celebrity "winter beater"

I checked the hull with a pretty long straight edge. It has quite a bit of rocker and only a little bit of hook towards the rear of the left side but I was able to get it out.. :) Glad to finally hear some numbers from somebody with a similar hull, I was starting to think I was the only one out...

So far the Formula has been running GREAT!! I just have to get used to the fuel economy (or lack thereof). It seems to be getting about 1.5 mpg. I'm just used to doing a bit better with my other boats in the past, but they were all a lot lighter and way over powered compared to this one, but...

    Formula

After a week of work and a LOT of help from my buddy Frank (htrdlncn) We got the boat pretty much completed..:sifone: I got rid of the closed cooling system and went to raw water cooling for simplicity. We did a LOT of cleaning and worked on the stereo a bit. The last time out we ran it ran...
