A tip for you, I have heard if you remove the ring inside the U-joint bellows, It makes it much more flexible to get the bellows in there. Just remember the exact way the ring is installed now, So that you can reinstall the ring the exact same way it had come out.

Your fuel pressure specifications according to mercruiser service manual #23, is between 34 - 38 PSI, Look for 36 psi to be normal though.:cheers2:

You should start with checking your fuel pressure, You may have air in the fuel system up around the fuel rail area. Good luck with it.

Check number 8 spark plug to see if it's excessively rich. Also you need to do a injector balance test. Also You will want to check the fuel pressure at the mechanical fuel pump as well, If it's over 8 psi then you will need to replace it.
