    Now I've done it....2002 382

Congrats on the sale. You really kept that rig nice. I imagine that had to be a bittersweet moment seeing it leave. I know watching my Talon get towed away after 7+ years of ownership made me a bit queezy in the stomach.

    Sbc performance exhaust

Kind of on the same subject... What are the pros/cons of running the exhaust thru the transom only Vs thru both the transom and the outdrive? My 292 has the Corsa Quick-&-Quite Y-pipes (non-switchable) that flows both thru the transom and outdrive. Is this quieter than running thru transom...

    292 Fastech with lab props

Sorry to hear about your 6.2. Glad they are taking care of it for you. Yes, warmer would be nice! 2009 was definitely a cool one. Let's also hope the winter/spring snow/rain stays in check as well. Happy New Year! :cheers2::bday:

    Good job GM!

Good story! I plan to keep my 2500 HD Duramax a loooong time too. I had my intermediate shaft replaced (see link) at the dealer no charge and no problems so far. http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/Bluegorilla/2009-01-11_230548_Steering_shaft.pdf

    Lets see your tow rigs

Wow Bill, that sux. I have had only one issue with my 2005. It was a clunking noise coming from the steering column. The intermediate shaft was replaced under warranty (see link) and all has been good ever since. I guess the front ends must be sensitive to any changes (taller tires / lift...

    292 Fastech with lab props

Our 2006 292 came with labbed 28p Bravo 4-blades. The pic below shows the slip I see at various rpm's. This was during a 90°F day and calm water on the Mississippi River. The 'Actual MPH' listed is an average of going with and against the current. As you can see, the labbed props like to...

    Cat VS V

Sold it after we had our daughter.:03: Speedfreak wife became a Mom and we had to slow down. Probably a good decision. Those Talon's sure were sweet. Ran nitrous oxide in mine and it was scary quick!:sifone:

    Cat VS V

Had a 22' Talon and now a 292 Formula. Each have their advantages. My cat was small, but gave a major adrenaline rush every time I hammered down. The 292 handles bigger water and that can be a thrill even at only 70 mph. I like the stand-up bolsters and cuddy. Much more comfortable for...

    In hull tranducer

Yup, no problem mounting near the transom for a non-stepped hull. The issue with steps is they aerate the water and this causes interference with the sonar. The transducer needs a solid path when sending the sound waves to the bottom and back. That's why any gaps between a liner and hull or...

    In hull tranducer

I have a 2006 292 which is a twin stepped hull like your 382. The factory depth finder didn't work very well and I replaced the thru hull transducer with one compatible with the SC5000 smartcraft display. The factory tranducer is located under the hinged step entering the cuddy cabin and this...

    Time for new batteries

+1 on Deka. http://www.eastpenn-deka.com/default.aspx?pageid=468 I'm on my 4th season with two wet cell Deka's. P/N 24M7 is for starting the starboard engine (1000 MCA @ 32°F). The other battery is a 1231MF which is a starting/deep cycle battery with 1260 MCA. It runs all the accessories...
