I've done that a couple times, Don't think I would dare try that with a 4 wheeler.

I raced motocross as a kid so I know (knew) what I was doing on a bike- or so I thought.

Coming in late one night and feeling NO pain, I dropped my buddy off. He opened his garage door and there sat one of those pieces of $hit. Of course I had to stop and look. He picked it up at a yard sale that previous afternoon- got a great deal. He one-kicked it and it fired right up. Of course I had to "take it for a spin". Here I am, half-pickled and blazing down his suburban street at 3:30 AM. I got out of the throttle and went to turn in the intersection a block down. Of course it didn't turn- even slightly. The front tire just hopped across the pavement. So I did what any motorcyclist would do- I shifted my weight forward and into the turn. And I stuck my left foot out. The next thing I remember was the sound of quiet- and pain. Turns out you are SUPPOSED TO LEAVE YOUR FEET ON THE PEGS! I missed that part. When I stuck my foot out it caught my heel and sucked me right off and under than SOB- slammed me right to the pavement then drove over me. I was not pleased. Last time I was ever on one.

I had the exact opposite thing happen to me. All i ever had was quads and three wheelers for years. One weekend i went over a buddys house and he had a couple of 250's, dont remember what they were but they were jacked up full race bikes. At any rate it was the first two wheeler i was ever on and i must have dumped that bike a couple of dozen times that day . . . YOUR SUPPOSED TO TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE PEGS! . . . although i never ran my self over with it

Yes they are.

I realize it looks pretty dirty in the picks, but trust me it's in REAL good shape. That's just dirt and grime from sitting in the garage. The side covers on the engine don't have any scratches on them from boots either.

You did real good on that thing if those are original tires. That means it has pretty low hours on it.

His guess was fifteen or so tanks of gas through it. I wouldn't say that's exact, but I'd say it's close based off the condition of it.

they are more unstable than a quad, but in capable hands fun and safe. real problems stem from this and similar incidents... Glamis sand dunes ca. circa mid 80's, Dad has a full race 250r 3wheeler, it's hot in the desert in the afternoon so dad is sitting in the airconditioned motorhome drunk, 12 year old son is begging Dad to let him ride it.. dad says yes. Kid gets on bike he has no buisness being on, wrecks and is killed. Dad sues Hondafor millions because the vehicle is "unsafe". Press makes a big deal about it. Honda looses lawsuit(s). Insurance companies take note and no longer will insure 3 wheeler races, more bad publicity follows and 3 wheelers become history.

I think it has a lot to do with igonorance or lack of exposure to them.

Like phragle said, it's all about the operator. Apparently the "new" fashionable item that is unsafe is a Rhino or similar vehicle. Again, all operator.

I've seen more people wreck bikes than I have anything. Not saying they are more dangerous, just saying they are just as dangerous as anything else in the wrong hands.

I can slide a three wheeler much easier than I can a quad due to one less wheel on a given side. As for the often talked about mistake of putting one's foot down, the same injuries will happen with a quad when you put your foot down as they will with a three wheeler. On ANY ATV or ATC your feet belong on the pegs on nowhere else.

yup. Idiots ruined 3 wheelers. No good jerks that never rode anything before going out buying a new 250R and wrapping it around a tree and blaming the bike. Thats why there are 50 warning stickers on the new ones. I have always thought that 3 wheelers would make a comeback because they are much more fun and you really have to "ride" them to get performance out of them. I got rid of the stock tires and out on a more slick tire and was able to slide the rear end out much easier and it was a blast. Different sprockets and a small bore were my ticket. I bet the torque on the 350 would allow you to break the wheels free much easier. Should be a blast. How much you selling it for? :sifone:

Didn't buy as an investment, but people have me thinking. Been offered 2k as is on a couple of 3 wheeler forums already. That's four times what I gave for it.

I wouldn't mind riding it for a year or two first. :blush5:

Like someone else said "in capable hands a 3 wheeler is safer" This is 100% true. I curently have four 4 wheelers, and if handeled properly they are a lot of fun, however they take more work and are easyer to get out of shape because they are so much more front heavy. I have been riding off road for over 20 years and just today I almost dropped a 500 lb 4 wheeler on myself.

i feel much safer on 4 wheels as opposed to 3. just a personal preference, but i have always found 3 wheelers much more "tippy." that said, i have run my own foot over several times on my quad. it hurts, but oh well, its why i started wearing boots.
