New neighbors

So, the house next door sold a week or two ago, and the new people are moving in today.
I haven't met them yet, but I guess they are from Nebraska, or N. Dakota, and they are gonna be "snowbirds".
They have 2 teenage kids, boy/girl.
Today it's mid-70's here and a little breezy.
I'm wearing jeans and a T-shirt, but considering a poncho when I go out to smoke (yes, a Mexican poncho, not a Sears poncho:))
I look out my office window, and the teens are laying out on lawn chairs.
The young man in board-shorts, and the gal in a hot pink bikini.
Brrrrrrr!
I guess after being out here for three yrs my body has adjusted to the summertime heat.

It's been crazy hot for winter down here. Averaging 80 degrees instead of 72 with a breeze. We just got our 2nd cold front of the year, 63 tomorrow, 70 on Monday, and back to 76 on Tuesday.

I remember when I first got stationed to Nellis AFB in December. It was 61 degrees and I was walking around in shorts......after have been living in Colorado for 6 Months.

The new neighbors just left the house again to go into town.
That is a minimum 1 hr trip.
I remember when we first moved out here and I had to go to the grocery to pick up something we were missing for dinner.
We were used to having a Safeway literally across the street.
I was driving back, been gone 45 mins. still 10 mins away from the house, and my wife is calling me wanting to know where the hell I am.
We've learned to make lists, and minimize the trips into town, (we both drive fairly large trucks) or make sure you pick things up on the way home.
Nobody even looks at you funny when you buy 4-5 30 packs of beer at one time. Instead, they help you load into your truck.
I could even have a 9mm on my hip in plain view, happens all the time.
Damn, I love Arizona!

Told the cops last time that if this was Texas I could have shot him dead twice now and gotten away with it. The cop reminded me that we were in Michigan.
