I actually think there are several more on the list in OH....Taxes and Crime are factored into the equation.

Forbes: Detroit's miserable, but Cleveland is worse

Compared to other cities, Detroit is more miserable than last year but less miserable than two years ago. And at least we're not Cleveland.
The Motor City was ranked fourth today on Forbes.com's annual list of America's Most Miserable Cities.
Cleveland won the top spot. Also finishing ahead of Detroit was Stockton, Calif., and Memphis. Flint came in fifth.
The criteria used by the Web site are unemployment, taxes, weather, commute times, violent crime, public corruption, Superfund sites and pro sports teams' success. The site looked at the country's 200 largest metro areas, ones with populations of at least 245,000.
Detroit was ranked seventh worst city last year and in 2008, the first year of the survey, it was named the most miserable city in the United States.
In this year's showing, the Web site cited the fact that Detroit's economy has shriveled six years in a row, including by 9 percent last year. It also noted that the city has thousands of homes for sale under $10,000.

All of the cities listed are ethnically unbalanced......
I'm sorry but I'm having a real hard time taking that article seriously. I find its conclusions to be dubious at best since it so light on facts. To make a conclusion that Cleveland is the most miserable city because of a fire that happened 41 years ago, because people have been moving out of its urban area, because its sports teams are not ranked high enough, etc.
My conclusion is that the author of the article has an axe to grind for some reason. Junk science at best.

I'm sick and tired of hearing how bad Cleveland is to live in. It's not the end of the world for heaven's sake. So what, you have bad winters. So does Buffalo and many other cities. :cuss:

I grew up in 9 and love 1. Total BS about Cleveland. :smash: I have lived and traveled all over the world and Cleveland is a great city.
The biggest gripe I have with Cleveland (and I am from NE OH keep in mind) is the victim attitude that some have. This drives me insane. :cuss:
What I am confused of is how Pittsburg didn't make the top ten. I was under the impression they were going through the same things Detroit and CLE were going through.

I guess my experiences in that area were somewhat shielded. Spent time on the outskirts and upper scale places but did go downtown regularly. Great restaurants and parks out there, always had something to do and had a good time. Not much out there in the way of boating, I dragged the 28 Batboat out there a few times and there really wasnt much to do on the water. It does seem congested and sprawling in some areas though and i'm sure that cant help conditions and crime any.
I'm actually slightly envious of the lake effect snow, I mean hell if your gonna live up here where its friggin cold half the year I'd rather have it snow then the sloppy crap we get here

There is plenty of good in Cleveland, plenty of bad too. Every other major city in the U.S. has the chitty parts of town that you know better than to go into, nothing different in Cleveland. Plenty of good in Cleveland, as well as all the other chitty cities on that list.
Except for Flint, or Gary, IN. I don't think anybody would miss either one of those towns...
