The 28 Pantera should be good to go for a March race. We're targeting the beginning of February to start testing and practicing for the ski race. So should be good to go for March. Also plan on towing out for Havasu.
Frankly, if that turns out to be the schedule, I'd say that absent any catastrophes we'd plan on doing the whole season (we'd planned on skipping any POPRA races more than say 6 hours away).
Last couple years its started at the Belmont Pier, run down towards the Queen Mary, out Queens Gate and over to the area near Two Harbors (as I recall) Then I think down the lea side of the island to Avalon and back to LB to finish at the stern of the Queen Mary.
Someone put a solid gold roof on their building huh?! :sifone:
Hey, if you get free on Saturday, a bunch of the ski race guys are doing a fun run/polar bear run to the island and back with lunch at Yardhouse after. I'm going to try to make it up. Give me a shout if you're around.

Not off the top of my head. I do recall some other guys having issues with the distance in the smaller boats. Kevin Cooper maybe?
I think it's something close to 60 miles from the stern of the Qeen Mary to the turn boat at Avalon and back (per one of my buddies that runs the ski race and verified on some internet map program). I'd guess then that would probably add a couple miles through the harbor and a couple miles down the face of the island. Ball park it at 65 - 70 miles?
