Not only in America, but I am most familiar with it in America. And frankly it is not surprising. A group of people, race, nationality, religion, whatever do not want to have to change their way of life to accommodate another group's. This is the underlying reason for the success of the American experiment, we welcomed anyone (to varying degrees) and if they assimilated they became successful, but the basic underpinnings of our society were kept intact. The conflict now is that people want society as a whole to conform to new groups coming in, and a nation cannot continue to exist as a mish mash of various groups with different agendas. Which is why Europe has never become a nation.
