Most Embarrassing Tow?

:ack2:As seen at the 2009 Rum Run. Better yet, although I don't have a photo, is a SCOPE member who has his 382 towed in by a sail boat... :sifone:









It could be worse though, he could have been towed in by Sea Tow! :ack2:

And actually, he'd broken down and all we had to help him out was a "push rod" so we pushed him in... :iamwithstupid:

I got towed in a couple weeks ago by a drunken guy in an old beat up something-or-other. I was pretty damn thankful to be towed in in mid November though free of charge. It's all Sunsation96's fault, he broke my outdrive.
 
And then there was the day good ol' Magic Medicine had THIS bad boy hangin' by a thread behind him...

I don't know why everybody knocks on Bayliners. We had an 18 footer with a 3L for a couple years when I was younger and the thing was unstoppable. That boat had well over 1000 hours when we sold it and it ran like a top. It went out everyday of the summer, rain or shine, glass or chop, and when it was sold, it did not have a single stress crack or rattle. And it wasn't like it was driven by an old man, it was beat on by a 13 year old and a 16 year old. Everywhere we went was full speed! Some of my best boating memories are out on that boat! :)

I know several people who have boated with us driving Bayliners, they have been fine, I think Lake Michigan may have been a little to much Lake for that one.

I knew that would come up when I saw this thread...

Back in 1999 a new Nor-Tech 50V owner took off out of KW to catch up with the Boca Grande raft up. He'd never been there before.
After a little while they kept looking over the side and finally Oh S...!
Pulled back on the sticks and they were in 2' of water.
No problem call Sea Tow.
Well they had been running so long in 2' of water Sea Tow couldn't get to them.
They had to walk the line to them. Ran out of line twice and had to go back to KW for more. Finally reached them with a total of 5750' of line.
A new world record for the length of tow line!
And of course a bill of around $7000.

I got a winner:

2 seasons ago - just got done running my 24 Switzer against a 25' Checkmate down the Niagara River. The Checkmate bailed off and turned around headed back up river. Then I ran out of fuel...

Guess who towed me in??

NYS Trooper on a JET SKI!!!!! - after I just got done saying "all jet skis belong at the bottom of the river...."

The same guy that Hippie looking guy feel of the back of my boat trying to keep war bird from hitting the dock! That was one of the first trips out on the Sunny.:cheers2:

My dad had a bought a new Liner in 93 and I had the same luck as Per. I did not speak to my dad for a month when he brought that boat home! We were looking at Baja's and he came home with this, needless to say I was very mad. It was a 19'er and SC288 and I beat the **** out of that boat all through our teenage years and not one stress crack. The boat had a little 4 popper and I ran it WFO all da time!:driving: Still running strong to this day.

:iagree: Yeah we violated that boat along with my old man's Rinker. Both are still running to this day with no stress cracks :driving: ! Why in the he** did they let us take those out on our own???
