7 Dead, 12 Injured at Fort Hood

Yes- confirmed that the shooter was wounded. It appears he acted alone.

From what I'm hearing the shooter has been a vocal opponent of our involvement in both Iraq and Afghanistan. At the risk of going out on a limb, I'm going to guess more along the lines of a severe mental disturbance raher than Islamic fundamentalism as his motivator.

Isn't it funny how the two of those things together so often result in death? Of course, the same could be said for Christian fundamentalism...

He was raised American, and the military put him through med school. He had Allah on his front door.

13 killed and 30 injured.

A very sad story. Enough Americans are getting killed overseas, and this place is supposed to be a safe place.

They are questioning now that political correctness may have played a part in him being promoted regardless of his religious beliefs. He had gotten a poor performance rating, which is hard to do at his rank.

now they are saying that gunman is NOT dead...
Nope. Not dead yet.

I saw on the news this morning that he was shot four times by a female police officer who was nearby doing traffic and immediately switched active and aggressive response. Rather than wait for backup or a perimeter, she advanced on Hasan and when he turned a corner she engaged him in a close gun fight, hitting him four times. She was hit once.

I have a niece that's in her 30's who had to go to a Baptist Fundalmentalist church. It's screwed her up for life. She's still taking antidepression medicine because of it.

From a video interview last night:

Col. Terry Lee told Shepherd Smith he had worked with Hasan in the Psych Unit at Fort Hood.

Lee said Hasan had made comments at a conference that "maybe the Muslims should stand up and fight the aggressor" in Iraq. According to Lee, Hasan made similar comments several other times, including repeatedly saying "we should not be over there." He also said Hasan seemed "almost sort of happy" about the shooting at a Little Rock recruiting office. . .

I see from the talking heads on CNN that the man made similar comments more than once. Its worrisome that things like that dont get reported and investigated before tragedies like this occur.
There are probably thousands of mixed up people wandering around our society that have the potential of going TILT. Such a horrible waste of life and grief for all those families that are effected in this. My condolences to them all.

Without a doubt. I would hope that there would have been an intervention after learning about the guy's outward way of thinking...Instead, our fear of political correctness ignored it, and now we have this. Damn shame. What a horribly senseless loss of life.

This hurts so much more knowing it was one of our own servicemen that harmed others; an enemy within.

RIP to all those fine people.

:(

I just wonder where and how this is gonna end in america ??!!

I mean don't they want to vote an other muslem in to office for some BS ???

I am by NO means a rassist, but this needs to stop at one point !!!!

If u look at the history of the US, and i don't know all of it, they should learn something from all this.

SORRY
