Well I dont know how long it will last, but i made a few adjustments to the 401k about a year ago, this year I am up 25.9% and I am really close to being even from when this whole thing hit....

Clay, Clay, Clay...

Repairing everything that is wrong in this economy ain't like poppin' some viagra to give the claymates a quick fix... :sifone:

It took us a long time to get where we are today- dumbya had EIGHT YEARS to add his crap to the problem.

Have some patience, man.

All in good fun my friend; sorry if it hit a nerve.

I know there are more of you out there; like 63 million of them that voted for the clown.

What gets me is you're both right. It's not Dumya or Bama. It's not Dem's or Rep's. It's both.

Career politicians should be illegal.....

So I keep hearing Obama called a "do nothing president". If thats the case, how can ytou lay the blame for the fiscal mess the USA finds itself in at his feet? If he truely has done NOTHING, then what has and is happening can hardly be attributed to him can it?

GW was a very active President. Under his reign, the US managed to financially self distruct. What is NOW was coming for quite some time. It didn't just happen the day after the election.

I guess its easy to point and assign blame to the guy in power now but gentleman, face facts, the Republican Party under GW Bush and the MAJOR LEAGUE MONEY movers in the US had a major hand in creating the mess you find yourselves in right NOW.

Will Obama fix it? I highly doubt he nor his party or backers has the power to do so. Unfortunately, he is using the oldest socialist game in the world to try. Throw money at it and maybe it will go away. History has shown over and over that this "plan" doesn't work. It only adds more and more debt and the cost of servicing said debt to the books.

That said, so does war. How much did GW throw at the middle east? Did it fix it?

Would McCain, had he been elected have been able to fix it? Not any more likely than Obama.

Your finger pointing needs to be redirected at those who actually pull the strings, the purse strings that is. Life time beaurocrats. Lifetime politicians, lobbyists and those with BIG money who manipulate all the above.

:26:

Jayboat just makes it easier than the rest of you.

Living the last 25 years 20ish miles south of Washington DC I know all politicians are crooks; some are just worse at it than others.

Congress is where the problem lies; in more ways than one.

Jayboat- rough day? Surprised you got so worked up is all; your cut/paste antics are legendary and joking poking some fun- nothing personal.

Sorry, Mark...

been fighting with stubborn printer drivers all damn day and was still simmering about a comment on another thread that ONCE AGAIN brought my photography into a freakin political discussion... like it has one goddamned thing to do with it... :cuss:

I know I'm the token liberal in the room and I don't care-- republicans don't scare me... just got rubbed the wrong way. No worries. :USA:

One more thing- you can make fun of the cut and paste all you want. But I happen to believe that a few intelligent outside opinions by people that actually know what the fvck they are talking about makes for a much better discussion than to sit around the forum campfire and listen to the same forty buttwipes (myself included) give their esteemed opinon for the umpteenth time on a subject.

A common thread that Republicans and RINOs are dealing with is loyalty to a party which, unfortunately, put a one-legged circus midget in office for 8 years. Many may have approved and liked his actions, but the recent election losses and erroded relationships with non-white voters has many perplexed.

It will not be much longer before O-man needs to "man-up" and take responsibility for the current economic situation. but I am hearing from many economists that 2010 should be a flat "lick our wounds" year with 2011 showing, possibly, a robust 4% growth rate for GDP.

I admit to being a part of the 'anyone but Bush' crowd and felt that Palin was a tragic joke that couldn't be real. Please, don't attack me on that comment, just stating my own thoughts, not insulting those who approved or adored her. But if we consider that, like it or not, O-man is here for three more years AND if the economists are correct about a recovery, then I don't care who the president is, let's make some "mutherfuggin" money.

I pasted "mutherfuggin" from Jayboat's post. Can I be a cut & paster too?

TRue, but I am hereto talk about things with the buttwipes.. if I wanted outside views, I would be on CNN.com or Fox.com etc.....

Jayboat- although I don't often agree with your opinions I do enjoy hearing them. I've had my eyes opened more than once from your post which makes me a better prepared person to deal with the world.

Your pics are awesome and speak for themselves; nuff said.

Ok- back to bickering now that we've all hugged and balance is restored (except in the Senate and House).

Four more bank failures today. Total of 103 so far this year. Nice recovery plan. :(

103 is nothing comapred to the total number of banks out there...something like 1% and most failing are the smaller insitutions.

They don't really care about small banks...reduces competition in the marketplace which should lead to healthier banks in the long run. New bank charters will be hard to come by for some time to come.

That said, they don't want to see any bank fail, particularly those that are significant drains on the FDIC, it's really a matter of the lesser of two evils.

.

Largest number of banks to fail in a single year since 1992, and the year's not over. The FDIC is broke, completely out of money, and borrowing money from banks they propped up to try and support their commitments to depositors. And paying interest to get the money......:ack2:

Don't forget for a second that the Feds spent a Trillion dollars to keep banks from failing, but the number is still that high.
