Velocity Kid, Your 22 looks like a '86. It looks clean and in great shape. I love that boat I remember when it was new. Fun Fun.

When I called Steve Stepp about this boat he said it could have been built in late 86 but the hull ID is a 87. It's a All Kevlar lay up, boat is realy lite. Steve said its realy posible it was one of the last one he aclty did in kevlar. Yes the boat is in realy great condtion I got lucky finding this one

This one is an '84 nicknamed Blondie . The pic does no justice to the color.

She had warmed up rear riser 400's and #2's. It went 87mph in 1986. She was something special.

My Buddy Ronny bought this boat in '86. Took delivery in May. He drove it home to Annapolis for his honeymoon. I winterized it in December. It had 325 hours on it. A few years later he ran it in Trumps National race as a substitute for Kamakazee's burnt boat. He took third place. I saw guys cry with there hopped up Scarabs at local Chesapeake Challenge races. I'm pretty sure it was undefeated with his 330 TRS. I remember when Ronnie made his final boat payment. It served him well for over 15 years. I could write pages on my experiences in this boat.

Sorry I wrote all this and could not find the pic.

Jacques used to come to get me when we were at the Afterdeck. "Jimmy I'm tired of listening to these guys go race them for me and shut them up". He would send his buddies in the boat with me and with a full boat we would pass the Scarabs with their headers and all with this 30 packing 330 TRS . It was in the late eighties. Back then 70 was respectable.

My friend Lilly sold almost a million dollars of Velocities in '86 or '87. Those were the good old days.

I could tell Velocity stories for hours.

Jim, we have shared some info on some other sites...... I really like hearing some of your V stories!!!

I would love to get my hands on an older 30 someday!!

This 22 pitched her owner once. He had to avoid the boat circling until it ran out of fuel. Fun boat. Just always wear a kill tether.

Final have my new headers done. This was my first set I ever built, wasn't to bad. Big difference in performance. These pics are when I just got done clearancing the hatch for the headers to clear
