Does anyone use this service? I know you have to pay to get your "free" credit report, but I was wondering if it is worth the money?

Is there a better way to get your credit reports from the three agencies? I would also like to know my credit score(s).

I know about Annual Credit Report.com, but it doesn't include the score.

Thanks!

yes you can go right to the parent websites and get your report for free. Experian and equifax i believe. If you go into the freecreditreport.com website and sift through the disclaimers it tells you how to do it, they get it for free on your behalf and use that to market their service to you. I did it once several years ago and if i remember correctly thats how i did it.

I did it the other day, got my score.

They then enroll you in triple advantage
credit monitoring service, for a free trial
membership (I believe it's for 10 days)
with the hopes that you forget to cancel,
then they bill you $ 14.95 /mo.

But if you call this # 877-481-6826, and cancel
before the trial membership period expires,
you wont be charged.

Thanks! I paid off my truck, so my only debts are my Cigarette and a couple of credit cards. My score was in the low 700's. Now that the truck note is paid, I'm hoping it's at 740 or over.

Dont count on your score going down for any reason. the philosophy of them is too intense. You can go to www.identityguard.com and for 12.99 a month they will give you your scores and monitor it and let you know any time any one pulls a report on you.

I believe you are entitled to 2 or 3 free ones a year, but you have to go thru specific channels.

if you have anyone run it other than an agency, it will show as an inquiry, too many inquirys can lower your score. As I said, there are many diff things that make up a score, debt to income, late payments, balances on cards being more than 50% and less than 20%. number of cards, types of loans etc. You can purchase your report at any time from any of the agency's or sign up with a service and monitor it and be proactive. I did and it has paid off in spades.

I recently heard a report that the Better Business Bureau has issued a warning against them, and the Government fined them over $1Million for misleasding consumers.
You can get your report for free directly from Experian, Transunion and Equifax.
Besides the one report a year they will give you, if you are ever declined for a loan based upon your credit score you have the right to ask the credit agencies again.

I use the one that AMEX offers, I think it's $7.99 or $10.99 a month. It gives you your current score for all three and alerts you when someone has made an inquiry.

one of the tools I like about identity guard is that you can take your score, and plug in amounts of debt if you pay it off, it will give you what your score would be. example, mine on experian was 702 a couple months ago, if I checked that I wanted to eliminate 15k in cc debt, it would have taken my score to 772. it really helps you get an understanding and reports every time something goes on with it.
