Anybody in Key West? Need a boat looked at

I've got a friend interested in an old Magnum down there. Supposedly it's right in the middle of the island. Just wondering if someone already there would be willing to do a visual once over and make sure nothing obvious is wrong or missing. There's known mechanical issues so I'm not sure if he'll send a surveyor down there. I've recommended he have a professional at least check the transom and stringers.

Shoot me an email: handfulz28 gmail com

I have a friend of mine who's a boat nut that drives a truck several times a week to KW on his route. I'm sure he'd stop and take a look.

Alright Bob, you're on deck; PM sent.

Thanks Joe, talked to Jim just a little while ago.

h2oMag, nope not that one. The one we're looking for is supposed to be in better shape.

Cozzi is the only one I'd recommend. I first met him when i bought my Formula at Hi Lift. I had no idea what a superstar he was. :26:

either I am too dumb to send pics via pm or it cannot be done. so here goes

Bob What was your opinion?

I love the old Mags.

But, it looks it'd be a lot of fun to change plugs on that...
Engine compartment looks about the same size as a 28 Cig.

It wouldn't have anything to do with those 6 Coronas would it? :biggrinjester:

Can't thank you enough for the effort. I've saved 'em and sending to Al.

neat old boat, as you can see it was a low ceiling so I could not stand up in the boat, needs a good cleaning, the bilge was a mess as you can see in the battery box pics ( under the bench seat which was not attached to anything and was sitting on top of the engine hatch, there was blistering on the engine hatch, and a little on the bench where the seat would go, the hull looked good , but if you zoom in on pic #6 you can see some abrasions on the pin stripe. the center speedo was scratched pretty good, the cabin was roomy but I am too large a person to squeeze between the bolsters to get a good pic, overall it seemed in very good condition for its age, motors looked clean but the bilge was a mess as he stated he blew an oil line a couple months ago and hadn't time to clean it. trailer looked new but I did not look at the tires for dry rot, I can go back tomorrow and see. bolsters were in decent shape.

sorry was still typing, I would say it is identical to a 28 cig, keep in mind I get excited looking at these old boats and I might overlook some things
