read Chris's post, then read it again and again. Survey----Survey. Think long and hard about that lake and what it does and how it can get out there in a 25ft boat. Most of all read Chris's post's. Good Luck and welcome to SOS.

I'll probablly do some overnights on the boat and will be doing most of my boating on lake erie out of Marblehead. I'm just looking for opinions and suggestions. I think the boats I have mentioned will be good beginner type boats and seem like they would be able to be had in my price range. I'm looking to spend about 25k and just want something to have some fun on this summer and get my feet wet in the boating scene.

I did find a pretty good deal on a 25' outlaw out in Iowa and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on someone that does surveys out there and what to expect to pay. I'm in NW Ohio so i can't really just drive over and check it out.

    Thanks for the advice,
    Brent
I have a super clean 25 Outlaw for sale and I am in NW Ohio. Let me know if you want some info

Well fellas i'm still looking, just bought a bought a truck to pull the thing with. If anyone sees a boat out there that might be of interest to a guy new to the sport let me know. Also what is everyone's opinion on financing vs. paying cash. Maybe finance half, not sure what to do yet, but i know I don't wanna pay some retarded rate. Thanks again for helping out a newb.

Keep your eye on the Up Your Post thread. 03 is looking at the same thing you are. He's in Maryland and isn't looking in your area. There are some we've linked in there over the last week for him to review. Pay attention to that thread and we'll help you. There are a couple we've posted that are exactly what you're asking about.

I really like the Pantera's and Banana boats. I was looking for a cheap one before I found my Skater.

There was a 25 Thunder in Buffalo N.Y. on Craigs list Buffalo. Looked like a great deal.
Look in the A.T. threads under Cheap 25

I sat on my hands for a couple days on this deal and i think I missed it. I was a little nervous about a boat that old, but now I'm kicking myself. I think the guy sold it but I told him if it fell through I'd come get it with cash.

I love the Pantera's but they bring a premium, and being that this is my first boat I don't wanna spend to awful much.

Thanks for the plug! I was just going to post on this thread. I'm in Cincy and the boat has been to Erie, handled it great. Was a nice day for Erie (2-3's) and was solid as a rock. I can sell w/o power or take the blower off and put an intake and carb on it also.

^^^ I saw that Powerplay and it looks like a great boat but I would like something with a little more room in the berth. I'm probably gonna sleep on the boat occassionally

There's actually alot of room up there, it's very wide. I'm 6'0 and lay sideways with room to spare in the bed. My wife and I have stayed on the boat 2-3 days at a time on cumberland several times.
