They should save the big blocks as a matter of national security.

When the chit hits the fan, a big block chevy is a lot more handy than a manatee.

The nice thing about all of this nonsense in the first few months of this term, the running up of the debt, the misreading the economy, the billion dollar fingers in dikes, the manipulation of the market by the government, the threat to the health care system, the further creation of the entitlement class, and the quick slip toward socialist philosophy in the interpretation of governance will be a wake up call to the people who voted democrat because they were "angry" with the former administration. Bush is gone. People can start voting for someone again rather than against someone. (Although a recent glimpse of BOs poll numbers give an early indication that the passionate honeymoon has cooled to a chill.) The more that DC pushes the rights of the dependent class over the rights of the productive class the greater the opportunity for a conservative leadership when this youthful indiscretion that we called an election is farther behind us.

Will Dr. Adrian Rogers quotes of 1931 make more sense today?...

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom."

"What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving."

"The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. "

"When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for...that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation."

"You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

this program reminds me of the time after h-cane wilma in oct 2005 down here. 60 % of the cars & trucks down here got flooded (drownt) most of the island got new cars all at once, then the dealers were slow for 3 years and had to lay people off, then Obummer got elected and it really slowed down, now after this fiasco it will even be slower for people in the car industry unless they plan on doing this every year. they should change the name to "by foreign for cash"

    Unbelievable.
Something tells me that the 496 in my truck, and the 454 in my boat are going to increase in value over the next few years after they go and destroy all the v-8s.
    Healthcare is next.
If they do the same thing with healthcare that they have with cars...
Well, it reminds me of the movie Soylent Green, or Logan's Run.

I wouldn't be surprised if "The One" and his band of cronies tries to pass some sort of "gas guzzler" tax for anyone with large displacement engines

My co-worker tried to trade in an 89 Bronco in for a new 1/2 Chevy Truck. He was told at the local Chevy dealer was the program only allowed you to downsize, so the Chevy Colorado was the closest thing.

much less all the old cars are going to be scrapped, sent overseas to China, and then the Chinese are going to flood the market with cheap recycled steel.
