I forgot, I had a SandTow'd VW powered dunebuggy when I was 16, and a couple years later I had a 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser. That was the worst POS I ever owned. Bought it as a basket case, redid, repainted it, put it up for sale 2 days later. 4.56's with less than 30" tires and a 6 cylinder 4 speed. 65mph was ALL it would do top end. Rougher ride than any CJ I was ever in. I might hang a mower deck under one and ride around my back yard, but a mile up the street was TOO far. But... a TON of people were climbing all over each other to buy it. Sold for nearly twice what I had advertised it for. Glad to get rid of it though...making a few $$ on it was nice, but driving it SUCKED. The Sand Towd I think was made by Manx. Nice set up. Round "well pipe" steering column that I slid a smaller diameter pipe with a hitch couple into and towed it down the road...Cool set up and nice buggy for the time

Us old guys should tell stories about the cars we bought and modified.....

Like the split window I turned into a drag race car with a stright axle, tubbed, and the firewall and engine moved back a foot......
Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

I just owned but never drove an 1982 911SC targa. Don't even have picture's yet........ Found it and sent my Dads (family friend) over to look at it in Phoenix--just hit 80K one AZ owner miles and all dealer service records, etcetera. A mint 9.5 out 10 cream puff! So I wired my cash cause it was a steal for this car--Dad's friend decides he wants her and wired extra cash back to keep it!!!!!!
