Tommy , its all good and please tell me that your supplier is not Mich fiberglass and have you ever considered using Epoxy for infusion that is made in Romeo Mich that offers a wide selction of of hardners ( pot life ) that will fit any or all of your needs ( work time ) to get the job done . Just a suggestion .

I use materials from Michigan Fiberglass and Plasco in Romeo and found both companies to be extrememly helpful and supportive.

Tommy glad to see that we are both on the same track when using Plasco considering i will be ordering more then a few gallons in the near future , and not to mention that we both know a person that i have worked with in the past at S-2 YACHTS or Tiara , and have we not talked about this before ? ( not sure )

Oh hell no! I just got home now from working on the darn thing. I squared the boat on jacks and blocks, so that I can install the last two stringers. I lamintated a fresh layer of chopstrand to the bottom of the boat on the starboard side, so the new stringers have a good surface to bond to. I hope to bed the starboard outboard stringer into position tomorrow night. Hopefully I will glass it in this weekend. I will have plenty of good stuff to post by then.

I have another stringer bedded in place, but I am waiting on some receivables to come in, so I can buy some more supplies...ugh!

I finally got the courage to try resin infusion with the installation of this new stringer. After a failed attempt at resin infusion with the transom, I decided to give it another try.

If you look closely, you can see the resin front moving through the layers of cloth quite nicely.

Finished Product. Unfortunately one of the downsides of infusion is the telegraphing of the resin feed line in the side of the stringer. They make a transfer media that helps to hide this, but I did not use it for this infusion.

As you can see, when the infusion process works, it sure does make for a nice, clean and really strong lamination.

Thank You!. I will be impressed when the darn boat finally hits the water! I refuse to go another season without a boat in the water, so I have to keep hammering away at this thing.

Just curious , when you did your layup on the stringer was your largest piece of fabric first ------------------??
